One is a thermocouple + temperature transmitter, which is converted to a 4-20 mA signal to the control center, and the other is a thermocouple + compensation wire to the control center. 1. Select the thermocouple + temperature transmitter solution. The reason is that the thermocouple is an MV signal, which is very weak. It transmits a few hundred meters to the DCS cabinet very far, and has a weak ability to resist signal interference.

The choice of thermocouple + compensation wire scheme is because the temperature transmitter is used less, because the temperature transmitter is not of good quality, and is easily affected by the field environment, temperature, humidity, self-accuracy, and electromagnetic interference. Temperature equipment is to add an intermediate link, which may cause failure once more.
Thermocouple manufacturers: 1. The thermocouple compensation wire is different from ordinary cables. Its function is to extend the cold junction of the thermocouple. Compared with the temperature transmitter, it can reliably transmit weak MV signals to large DCS cabinets. The signal is not affected by interference. Choose a regular compensation lead manufacturer and choose a shielded, high temperature resistant compensation lead. This thermocouple + compensation lead solution is no worse than a current signal.
2. The quality of the temperature transmitter is good. If you choose a regular manufacturer, the total cost can be reduced. When the ambient temperature is not high, the first option is also worth considering.
In general, the cost of choosing a thermocouple + compensation wire for Option 2 is slightly lower than that of choosing a thermocouple + temperature transmitter for Option 1.
